is. Taking care of ourselves is ultimately taking
care of our little ones, because if we don’t put our
happiness and sanity first, we will ultimately be
useless in taking care of our little ones.

Wake up 15 Minutes Early
    It’s too easy to hit that snooze button in the morning. Try getting up 15 minutes early and starting your day off on the right foot instead of rushing to get the day started. 

Sit Down & Read A Book
    When was the last time you sat down, (I KNOW! Crazy questions here,) and actually read a book? I couldn’t tell you but I know I would love to! If you make your wants and desires a priority, others will treat them as such. 


Go A Whole Day Without Yelling
    I hate yelling! I really do. I hate feeling like the only way to get through to my toddler is to yell. I hate the way it feels, I hate the way it makes him feel, and I feel so much better when I calmly approach him instead of yelling. 

Spend An Hour Outside, By Yourself
    I know this is a hard one, but do it! Go outside, breathe in that fresh air. It’ll clear your mind and do your body good. Go sit by the beach with a sunhat and a pair of glasses and just. Be. YOU! 

Take a 15 Minute Walk
    This one can be one you bring your little one(s) along with, and I know it makes it harder, but it’ll make everyone a happier camper. Take a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. Let your little ones lead the way. They will enjoy it and you’ll be able to not fret about guiding them. 



Put The Kids To Bed Early
    Part of being a parent means that you’re the boss! Start bedtime a half an hour early and spend some quality time with your partner. Or maybe retreat to your room and spend some time by yourself.

Don’t be Afraid To Call Your Partner Out 
    Don’t be afraid to tell your partner that you need time to yourself. Let your partner know that you’re feeling overwhelmed and while they just spent 20+ minutes in the bathroom, you haven’t showered in 48 hours! 

Spend 15 Minutes Writing
    I know a lot of my followers are fellow Mom Bloggers, but this can be applied to any craft, hobby or passion. Spend 15 minutes doing something that makes you happy. Make your happiness a priority and don’t dismiss your own happiness. If you pretend that your happiness isn’t important, why should others treat it as such? 

Stay Up Late & Watch A Movie
    I love watching movies but I so rarely get to actually sit down and watch a movie from start to finish without a million interruptions. The only way we get to watch a movie is if we stay up 2-3 hours after the little one goes to bed, and it’s so nice, even though we are practically zombies the next day. 

Paint Your Nails
    When was the last time you sat down and painted your nails?
Can’t recall? Me neither! It can be a long process, but it’ll make you feel better about yourself.

Buy Yourself Something Nice
    As mommas, we always buy for our little ones before we buy ourselves something new. They always need a new coat or new shoes. Buy yourself a new shirt for once, momma! You deserve it! 

Sleep In For an Hour
    Hahahaha!!!! I know, but you have to advocate for your self-care or else no one else will. Ask your partner to take the kiddos on a Saturday or Sunday for an hour in the morning so that you can get some extra sleep.

Wash Your Hair
    This is a big one for me. I usually only wash my hair every other day. When I’m feeling really unmotivated, I’ll skip another day and it just makes me feel frumpy. Take the time to wash your hair. You’ll be surprised how much better you feel. 

Spend an Extra 10 Minutes on You
    Sometimes, an extra 10 minutes can completely change the way I feel. Just spending 10 quiet minutes by myself turns my day right around. Don’t be afraid to spend that extra time on yourself.

Spend Time With Your Mom
    Sometimes, the only person who knows what you need better than yourself is your Momma. Call her up and set aside some time to spend with just her. 


Buy Your Child A New Toy
    I don’t know about you, but I love finding a new toy for my son, especially if they’re ones that I know he will LOVE! Nothing brings me more joy than that happy little-excited face when he gets a new, awesome toy!

Go To Bed An Hour Early
    There is nothing more luxurious than going to bed an hour early and getting a decent night of sleep! Even if that means you miss out of all the fun of staying up late. There’s always tomorrow night!

Cuddle With Your Children
    I can’t tell you how much I miss cuddling with my little guy when he was willing to cuddle. Now it’s a rare Sunday morning when he actually wants to cuddle.
 

Eat A Healthy Meal
    Taking care of your body is part of taking care of you. Eat a healthy meal that will be good for you and make you feel good.

Take Your Child On A Date
    Mommy Daughter/Son dates are the best! It’s important to plan special, quality time with your little one. They will appreciate your full attention along with a fun outing.

Go Out for a Girl’s Night
    If you don’t make your friends a priority, no one else is going to either. Your partner can’t read your mind and won’t send you on a Girl’s Night unless of course, he’s really awesome! Ask for a night away with the girls.


Make Your Little One Laugh
    Some nights as we near the end of the day, I realize that I haven’t hardly heard my little guy laugh. I haven’t heard that cute little giggle at all! Get down on the floor with your little one and just be silly to get those giggles going. It’ll make you both feel better.

Talk To Your Best Friend On The Phone
    I couldn’t even recall the last time I spent twenty minutes on the phone talking to a good friend that wasn’t my mom. Granted, I don’t have very many friends or time, but there are plenty of days when I wish I had a good friend to call up.

Go To The Coffee Shop & Read
    Read, write, drink some coffee and screw around on the computer! It doesn’t really matter what you do. Just do something that makes you happy that is about you and just you.

Get Up Early & Make Breakfast
    Or, ya know, stay up late and make breakfast! It doesn’t really matter what time of day you make breakfast, but I absolutely LOVE breakfast food and I never make it enough!

Get Yourself A New Haircut
    I usually go months and months and MONTHS without a haircut! There usually isn’t enough time or I’m too busy or there is something more important or not enough funds! Schedule that hair appointment, momma. 
 

Plan A Date Night With Your Partner
    When was the last time you actually planned to spend time with your partner? I’m not talking about you end up sitting on the couch together once the littles are in bed. I’m talking about setting aside time that just you and your partner spend together! Plan something fun together and enjoy it!

Take Your Little One To The Park
    Go let that little one run around like a mad man and burn off all that energy! I hate constantly telling my son he can’t touch this, that and the other thing! Let them get some fresh air and just be.

Go To The Grocery Store by Yourself 
    Totally counts as self-care, right?! 


Get Up Early & Do Your Makeup
    I never, never, never, ever give myself enough time in the morning to do my makeup. Most of the time I am comfortable enough in my own skin to not need any, but I love to look good. And when I look good, I feel good, too.

Plan a Family Outing
    There’s nothing I love more than spending a day together with my two favorite guys, whether that’s outside doing something active or going to the museum! It’s a great change of pace from being at home all day long.

Go Out To Eat Every Once & Awhile
    I know it’s stressful to go out to eat and drag the little ones along, but it’s so nice. Find a little family diner that makes quick, good food and that doesn’t care about the inevitable toddler meltdowns and let someone else do the cooking and clean up the dishes! 


Sit Down & Play With Your Little One
    Your little one needs that one on one time and so do you. Take a moment to slow down and just be alongside your toddler. Let them show you their toys. Watch them play, even if it’s just for 5 minutes.

Laugh With Your Partner
    Show each other funny, ridiculously stupid GIFs! Watch a funny TV show during bathtime. Cuddle up on the couch and tell each other about your day and just laugh about it!

Spend An Extra 10 Minutes In The Shower/Bath
    Or, you know, ditch the kids and go hot-tubbing! Who doesn’t love sitting in a hot tub!?

Know Your Limit, Mommas
    This is so important. Know your limit, Mommas. Know when to say no, enough is enough. Don’t be afraid to tell someone that it’s too much and you can’t take anymore.

    Great collection of self care ideas. Moms always get lost in the day to day shuffle. I like how you included going to the grocery store by yourself. It's surprising how this little thing can make a big difference.

    Ugh, it can make SUCH a big difference! Even just 15 minutes to yourself can be world altering. Lately I am so lost in the shuffle of doing everything the same everyday and not doing anything that has to do with JUST ME, except for my 10 minute drive from daycare to work. It's really tearing me down. Looking forward to some very much needed Me Time this weekend! Thank you so much for commenting! I so appreciate it!

    I NEED to start doing this! I've tried the last two mornings and ALMOST got up an hour early each time, but the bed kept snoozing the alarm! Hahahaha! The warm blankets kept calling my name!
