I understand now…
Dear Mom,— Tresa | The Mom Blog WI (@TheMomBlogWI) January 9, 2019
Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. For every time you gave up something of yours so that we wouldn’t go without. For every time you inconvenienced yourself so we could thrive. For every night you laid awake worrying about us. I understand now. #DearMomSeries
Thank you for everything you’ve ever done and continue to do for me and my brother… I appreciate you and everything you’ve done with greater understanding now as I hold my baby tight and tuck him into bed. I have so much more appreciation for everything you’ve done that’s brought me to where I am today. I understand on a much deeper level what you’ve gone through and continue to go through as a parent…
Thank you for everything you’ve done for us as we grew up in your house and all the times we ever came back to your home for more love and encouragement. Thank you for all the times you let us back into your home with open and loving arms when things just didn’t go quite right. Thank you for taking care of us… For every time you gave up something of yours so that we wouldn’t go without. For every time you inconvenienced yourself so we could thrive. For every night you laid awake worrying about us…I understand now. #DearMomSeries Click To Tweet
Thank you for putting clothes on our backs and food in our bellies, even if it meant you went without something you wanted for yourself. I understand that now… Thank you for taking care of us when we were sick, for all the nights you laid in our beds or held us in yours even when you were sick and sleep-deprived, and probably felt even worse than we did. Thank you for holding it together while we were falling apart, even though you probably needed to let it all out.
Thank you for putting us first for so many years, while you put yourself and your own needs on the back burner until we were well enough to be on our own. Your strength and selflessness will always continue to amaze me. Thank you for doing whatever it took and continues to take for us to be successful and happy. Thank you for always being there when we need you, for always taking our calls and for all the times you put yourself in check to listen to our problems, even though yours are so much bigger.
But most of all, thank you for showing me how to be an excellent Momma. Thank you for showing me that even though it’s so hard, it’s also so rewarding. Thank you for showing me how incredible love can be, because you showed me that love first before anyone else ever did. I used to think differently, that maybe you and Daddy not having a perfect relationship had left us needing something more, but I was wrong. The love you and I have is without a doubt the best love, the strongest love, and you’ve shown me everything I need and more.
Thank you for everything, Momma, because without you, we would be nothing.
Love, your baby girl.
