Our Journey | Birth to Three
On March 13th, 2019, our son was officially enrolled in the Birth to Three Program, after nearly 6 months of trying and advocating, and we began the second part of our journey… Hi there, my name is Tresa and I am the mom blogger behind The Mom Blog WI and the Our Journey Series! Our Journey to the identification of educational autism (so far) officially began on March 13th, 2019, but we struggled for months before that to be seen by a professional who would take our concerns seriously. Our son Jackson is very sensory-seeking and struggles with sensory processing issues and obsessions, and he’s also severely sensory-sensitive to the…

Our Journey | How It Began
*Today, we finally officially enrolled our now 3.5-year-old son Jackson in the Early Childhood Education Program. He’s been identified as having educational autism and currently functions across the board at a 22-24-month-old level. He’s currently 42 months old.* It honestly kills me to look at these tweets from nearly a year ago… We thought we were making so much progress back then. We thought the Birth to 3 Program would be the answer we needed. We had been told we would have a speech therapist come to our home and help Jackson on a weekly basis. There had been talk about different therapies and so many resources, even though we…

If I could go back and relive one day…
If there was one day as a parent that I could go back and relive, it would be the day my son was born. Not because I regret that day. Not because I wish that day hadn’t happened… It was the happiest day of my life; I just wish there were some things I had done differently... Awe Sandy, I’m so sorry to read this. I wish you could relive that day with your Nana. đź’” If there was one day I could go back and relive, it would be the day my son was born. I would stand up for myself and my son more. — Tresa | The…

Writing for Me
I have been feeling very unmotivated lately. Uninspired, lacking creativity and spunk. I’ve been questioning myself and my purpose a lot lately, the direction I’m going in and my mission. Every idea I’ve come up with, I’ve dismissed completely because I am overthinking everything. I’ve been experiencing some serious writer’s block, but I’ve also been avoiding every single thing I know to do to break through that writer’s block. I know that if I have writer’s block, I should still write. I know that if I just start writing, something tangible will form. I know that if I keep avoiding it and succumbing to feeling uninspired and unmotivated, I will…

A to Z | Behavior, Boundaries, & Balance #AtoZChallenge
Hi there, everyone! Welcome to the second post in The Mom Blog WI’s April A to Z Blogging Challenge. If you’re participating in the challenge, I hope you’re doing well and going strong on the third day here! I wanted to talk a little bit about Behavior, Boundaries, & Balance today because these words are often used in relation to each other when talking about parenting, and have particularly been used with us and our family recently. It’s been weighing on my mind and I haven’t much liked the context in which they’ve been used, either. If you haven’t heard already, our almost 3-year-old has recently had a speech delay…

I hope you’ll enjoy these posts and follow along for the month of April as I take another step in my blogging journey. This first post is a little late, as it is April 2nd, but I was recently inspired and uninspired and inspired again by a few fellow bloggers. At the beginning of March, I decided I wanted to be part of the April A to Z Blogging Challenge. What is the April A to Z Blogging Challenge? Oh, well I’m glad you asked. The April A to Z Blogging…

New & Improved; The Mom Blog WI
Hi there, everyone! Notice something a little different? *Wink, Wink* *Nudge, Nudge* It has been a long, looooong two months since I have created some new content and let me tell you, I have missed this! I have been sick, for I kid you not, two entire months. Two months! Back in January, I started with a sinus infection that just would not quit! It. Was. AWFUL! I eventually ended up with a sinus infection and started a round of antibiotics at the end of February, which did nothing! Absolutely nothing. So I muscled through every single day, every single week, waiting for it to get…

The Road to Motherhood | Parenting & Phases
The Road to Motherhood | What No One Tells You Parenting & Phases One of the biggest parts of parenting is the struggles that we go through in raising our little ones. Everyone will tell you to embrace and love every moment. They will tell you how unbelievably blessed you are; there are people who wish they could be parents, you should be thankful. There will be people who tell you that you’re ungrateful for complaining or even thinking about calling these difficult times hardships. We are incredibly blessed as parents; we all know that. But these times are also incredibly difficult, and no one tells you that it’s okay…

A to Z | Connection & Communication #AtoZChallenge
Hi there, everyone! Welcome to the third post in my April A to Z Blogging Challenge! In case you missed it, be sure to check out the previous post in the series; Behavior, Boundaries, & Balance! For the third day and the letter C, I chose Connection & Communication. The common theme and hope for my posts in this series is for the series to revolve around parenting and children, since that is a huge part of my life and the lives of my followers and readers. But my goal is also to spend my time in this series reflecting on parenting as a whole, which I’ve spent a lot…
